Manual QA practice workflow: from requirements to release recommendation

Manual QA practice becomes more valuable when you rehearse the whole workflow, not only “find bugs.” Use this sequence to produce artifacts you can review and improve.

The seven-step practice loop

  1. Read the mission: identify user goals and explicit rules.
  2. Map risk: payment, account, data, navigation, accessibility, responsive behavior and error recovery.
  3. Explore: test happy paths, boundaries, invalid inputs and state transitions.
  4. Capture evidence: report only what you can describe and reproduce.
  5. Triage: assign severity and explain impact.
  6. Retest: confirm behavior after a hypothetical or real fix when available.
  7. Recommend: write a short GO / NO-GO release recommendation based on unresolved risk.

What makes practice portfolio-safe

Label training as training. Show your process, report quality and reasoning without claiming that a fictional lab was paid client work.
